Pia Simone's Story

A truly inclusive work culture

Turning everyday struggles to everyday joy
As a person who is legally blind, maneuvering in the world we live in everyday is extremely challenging. And so, deciding to make a change in my career came with my usual fears of being accepted, finding the right accommodations, and wondering whether I will be able to do the work that I am truly passionate about and good at.
A supportive work environment
To my surprise, Northbridge welcomed me with open arms and encouraged me to be my authentic self. My team is incredibly supportive, and I feel safe sharing my story and talking about the challenges I face. The people at Northbridge have become my friends and this job means so much to me. It has given me the confidence that I need and created boundless independence in working towards something significant – it feels very empowering.
A place where I feel respected
It’s not just about support – it’s also about being respected and treated like everyone else.  I have been fortunate to have worked on numerous projects where my ideas and suggestions have been considered and appreciated. My advice to anyone in the same boat is to just apply! Northbridge has a fantastic working culture and a community where you are more than just a number - it’s a place where you are respected and cared for as an individual!
